This website is designed to be a source of refreshment and point of contact for ordinary people: those who love and who obey Jesus Christ and earnestly are seeking to follow him and who want to work with others to become strong and push back the darkness in their lives, and cities and truly see the Kingdom come (Lord Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!)

Currently we meet in homes, parks etc around the Logan (Brisbane South side –near Ikea) area mainly in Slacks Creek and Springwood. You can also meet as a relational, family church in your suburb, Our hope is to see a house church on everystreet!
From time to time for special events we may rent larger premises. The reasons why we see this as valid form of church will be explained elsewhere on this website.
As well as meeting to minister to one another (launch people into their God Given ministries, equip , encourage, worship , pray, listen to God, live out his word. Receive teaching , enjoy the gifts he has placed into each one and urge one another to grow and overcome……..) we also have a strong outreach and outward focus..
We are passionate about sharing and demonstrating the blessings of God’s salvation and plan with those who don’t know Him. Whether this occurs by serving our neighbours, evangelism, or demonstrating God is real by evidence of HIS power- praying for the sick etc, we don’t mind as long as we are living witnesses for Jesus Christ! Each one of us.
We definitely identify with (and belong) to the world wide phenomenon of small group movements that are being called various names (and yes we acknowledge that the various tags do show differing emphasis of faith and practice) :
House church, Simple church, micro church, cell churches, organic church, family church, village church, home church, 24 hour church, The Church Next Door, Mission Church, But perhaps our favourite “label” is the one invented by our twelve year old daughter: Warm Church ( sounds lovely doesn’t it!!)
We love and respect the wider body of Christ and also relate in a wider sense to some prophetic and apostolic networks and inter church ministries. Though we are not part of a major denomination, neither are attempting to bring others under our so called "covering" we are not independant in the sense of spurning the visible and established churches. We feel led by Jesus to live out our faith and church life in a particular way but we do not demand everyone share that view and judge those that don't! Nor do insist on pointing out the traditional and unbiblical practises of others christain churches due to the fact we are too busy pulling the "log out of our own eye" in that respect!
But we wish to make it very clear: more important than the wineskin (structure) is the wine ( we believe this to be the presence of the Lord –and I mean really allowing him to have room in our lives and gatherings in practice!!
Knowing God, listening to Him and being led by Him daily are what is important. And if we are all truly doing that we will become an effective Church. To put it another way The main thing is that each believer is in Deep relationship with God, In deep relationship with other believers and deeply involved in proclaiming and demonstrating God’s love, message and power to a world that really, really, really needs it!!!
How that is going to look in each one of our lives and where that is going to take us will be different for each one of us. But one thing is sure “God places the solitary in families” we don’t have to be alone as we serve the Lord but allow others to help us, even point out our blind spots and be safely grounded in a loving community of fellow soldiers and travelers on the journey.
It is true we primarily meet in smallish groups because this facilitates relationships and we are called to do so. But our vision for the Church is BIG.
We would love to see heaps and heaps of church expressions meeting throughout Brisbane and really illuminating the darkness in this city and we are not opposed to meeting and gathering together in large meetings when it suits our purpose.
In fact there are parts of God’s character that are often expressed best in larger group settings . And we have often observed that not all groups have access to great anointed teaching and worship or what some call the five - ministry (those who have a special or recognized gift to impart as apostles, prophets, teachers, pastors and evangelists) . large gatherings help us to see beyond our patch, receive and also give to others) from the many gifts he has placed in the body and meet new friends.
Also we wish to emphasis while we all have our doctrines and core ideas on how to live out the teaching of the bible ,we will connect with and relate to anyone who is open to us and who loves the Lord and truly is seeking after Him.
We are not hung up on meeting in buildings or leadership or giving money . We do not judge those of the body who choose to remain in denominations or church settings that have a strong tradition.
We do not claim to be a “new testament” church . though we believe that more and more each day God will shape us into that bride that is worthy of such a bridegroom, that he is coming back to sweep off her feet and carry her away!
And each one of us is going to have to account for how we lived, what we did or didn’t do and so to that end we truly desire to live in the fullness of all God has planned for us, throwing off tradition, fear, worldly mindsets that have invaded Christ’s Church so that when we come before Him he will say: "well done good and faithful servant." So of course we take very seriously that our faith and practice are biblical and spirit led.
